This article discusses the use of subcutaneous immunoglobulin (SCIG) as a potential treatment for calcinosis associated with juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM). Calcinosis is a complication of JDM characterized by the abnormal deposition of calcium salts in tissues. The article presents two cases of patients with refractory JDM-associated calcinosis who showed significant improvement with SCIG treatment. SCIG has been shown to have local immunomodulatory effects and may prevent complications such as skin ulceration and infection.
