Abstract
The article discusses a study which compared two techniques in calculating total blood volume (TBV) in cardiac surgical patients. Results of using a dilution technique in comparison with using the traditional Allen formula and weight-based formula are presented. The study suggests that the traditional techniques lack the desired accuracy compared to the dilution method.
