Abstract
The article discusses a project which involves designing an underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV). An idea for a marine engineering project from the Future Scientists and Engineers of America website served as a basis for laboratory activities for the author's pre-engineering class. Students were given the background of specific devices used in the project, as well as a discussion of the science behind the project. The project also involved brainstorming ten ideas and the creation of a computer-aided design (CAD) drawing of their final idea.
