Abstract
The article discusses a study on how length variation in short tandem repeats (STRs) affects protein function and adaptation in plants, conducted by researchers and published in the journal "Science Advances". The study found that length variation in certain amino acid homopolymers in Arabidopsis thaliana correlates with local bioclimatic habitat and can affect protein function, indicating that length variation in STRs plays an important role in protein evolution and eco-evolutionary biology.
