Abstract
The article challenges the misconception that Australian Aboriginals only live in hot and dusty areas by highlighting the existence of cold regions in Australia, particularly in the southeast. It explains how Aboriginals in these areas adapted to the cold winters by creating huts and loose skin clothing. The evidence for this comes from archaeological findings and archival images from the mid-19th century. The article also discusses the presence of stone houses built by Aboriginals in Victoria and other regions, emphasizing their unique designs that were not influenced by European prototypes. It further explores a map from the 1850s that depicts Aboriginal huts and clothing made from animal skins, suggesting the continued use of their own designs. [Extracted from the article]
