Abstract
The given text is an analysis and presentation of source materials for Toru Takemitsu's Concerto de chambre par 13 exécutants. The concerto, composed in 1955, is considered a masterpiece by some but remains relatively unknown in wind literature. The essay provides an introduction to Takemitsu and the concerto, including a description of the manuscript score, its structure and organization, potential interpretive questions, and a new performing edition. The text also explores Takemitsu's background and the cultural atmosphere in post-World War II Japan. [Extracted from the article]
