Abstract
The article focuses on the detection of epizootic hemorrhagic disease virus (EHDV) serotype 8 in cattle farms in Sardinia and Sicily in Italy. Topics include the origin of the virus from North Africa, the genomic similarity to EHDV serotype 8 strains in Tunisia, and the measures taken to control the outbreak.
