Abstract
The article introduces the legislation H.R. 5324 (Seniors Mental Health Access Improvement Act of 2006) by Representative Barbara Cubin, a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, one of the two committees that has jurisdiction over Medicare in the U.S. The legislation would permit state-licensed mental health counselors and marriage and family therapists to bill Medicare for services provided to seniors.
