Abstract
This article presents selected results and experiences from the project "Solutions for Life" at the municipal psychiatric drop-in centre Værested Juelsminde. The project focused on a healthier lifestyle designed for people with psychiatric illnesses and problems. The content formed a structured course consisting of theory and physical activities within the framework of the concept "Solutions for Life."As is the case with comparable surveys, the participants lost little weight, although experiences indicated that on average, participants did improve their quality of life in terms of mental thought and self-control. Subsequent experiences at the drop-in centre have shown that users' improved quality of life and their interest in a healthier lifestyle have resulted in openness towards, and implementation of, healthier behaviour and lifestyles in general.
