연구 목적: 본 연구는 동아시아 음악문화 내에서의 개별성과 유사성을 찾아 다양성을 확인하고자 한다. 연구 방법: 문헌 조사를 통해 각 나라의 음악 문화를 연구하고, 이를 비교 분석하였다. 연구 내용: 동아시아를 중국ㆍ한국ㆍ일본으로 한정하고, 각 나라의 음악 문화를 전통 음계와 조율 체계의 두 가지 측면에서 연구하였다. 전통 음계는 이론ㆍ종류ㆍ구성 방법을 정리하고 시대에 따라 변화되는 모습을 살펴보았다. 조율 체계는 이론과 실제 연주로 나누어 연구하였다. 결론 및 제언: 중국ㆍ한국ㆍ일본은 선법의 개념을 포함하는 5음 음계를 전통 음계로 사용했으며, 중국에서 시작된 12율려 이론을 조율 체계로 하고 있음을 확인하였다. 하지만 음계를 형성하는 방식이나 조율 체계의 발전 양상에서 차이를 보였다. 세 나라의 전통 음악이론에 관한 연구는 분명하게 규명되어야 할 부분이 남아 있다. 따라서 본 연구도 표면적 비교에서 벗어나지 못하는 한계점이 있다. 앞으로의 연구에서는 전통음악의 악보 분석을 통한 음악의 실체연구로 이러한 한계점을 극복해야 할 것으로 보인다.
This study confirms the diversity in Eastern Music by understanding its individuality and similarity. The consideration of the musical culture of each country progressed through literature research on two aspects of the traditional musical scale and tuning system. Based on this, there was a comparative analysis, and the conclusion was as the following. It was confirmed that a traditional scale of China, Korea, and Japan was the Pentatonic scale which included the concept of mode and was based on the 12-yulleo theroy. However, there were differences in the way to form the scale and in the development aspect of the tuning system. There are left to investigate unclear things in the research on the traditional music theory of the three countries. This study, therefore, also has limitations like superficial comparison. In the future, it needs to overcome these limitations by the analysis of the traditional music score.
