본 연구는 경상남도 진주 및 사천을 중심으로 한 동남권 경제구역내 항공산업의 현주소와 현행 정책방향에 대한 고찰을 통해 국가 핵심산업으로 성공적 발전을 위해, 제도적·정책적 개선방안을 제시하는 목적으로 수행되었다. 특히 항공산업은 항공물류를 비롯하여 항공부품제조, 항공서비스 산업 분야로 다양하며, 이러한 복합적인 산업분야의 발전을 위한 정책적 제안이 필요하다. 근래 들어 항공분야에 대한 관심이 증가하며 지역별 클러스터를 형성하여 진행하는 사항에 대한 문제점들을 제시하고 기존 업체별 지역별 구성을 유지하며 사업의 다각화를 할 수 있는 방안등을 제안하고자 한다. 즉, 근본적인 자본문제에 대해 해결방안과 전문 인력의 수급에 따른 정부차원의 제도적 혜택 지원, 그리고, 기존 지역단위 소규모 산업단지를 중심으로 한 특화 연계 발전을 장려하는 방안이다. 항공 산업 전반과 MRO 및 드론산업 등에 대한 정부의 지속적인 관심과 투자가 되어 항공특화분야인 항공 기술역량을 강화하고 나아가 동남아시아권에서 최고의 항공산업 및 기술력을 보유한 대한민국이 되기를 기대해 본다.
The purpose of this study is to suggest institutional and policy improvement measures for successful development as a national core industry through consideration of the current status and policy direction of the aviation industry in Southeast economic zones centered on Jinju and Sacheon, Gyeongsangnam-do. In recent years, interest in the aviation field has increased, suggesting the problems of progress by forming regional clusters, maintaining regional composition by existing companies, and suggesting ways to diversify the business. Therefore, it is suggested a solution to fundamental capital problems, support of institutional benefits at the government level in accordance with the supply and demand of specialists, and encourage the development of specialized linkages centered on existing small-scale industrial complexes. It is predicted to be the Republic of Korea with the best aviation industry and technology in Southeast Asia by strengthening aviation technology capability, which is a specialty of aviation, by the government’s continuous interest and investment in the entire aviation industry and MRO and drone industry.
