Abstract
A plasma-filled diode (PFD) is a high-power vacuum diode pre-injected with low-density plasma so as to have a low initial impedance. We study a PFD in a ring-diode configuration, using a Particle-In-Cell (PIC) code. We compute circuit properties of the PFD as a function of time for plasma densities varying from 10 10 to 10 13 and for a range of typical diode sizes.
