Abstract
Due to spectrum scarcity and emerging various IMT-2020 (5G) wireless applications, coexistence and sharing between IMT and airborne radar systems becomes a critical issue recently. At WRC-19, ITU-R allocated 3400-3600 MHz frequency band for IMT-2020 (5G), and 3300-3400 MHz frequency band was allocated to the service of radiolocation. This paper presents an evaluation of the adjacent channel operation between the airborne radar in the frequency range 3300-3400 MHz and IMT 5G indoor BSs in the frequency range 3400-3600 MHz. Simulation results obtained with the Monte Carlo simulations. The interference-to-noise ratio (I/N) results show that the airborne radar systems are safe from the aggregated interference of IMT-2020 indoor BSs.
