Abstract
This paper is dedicated to the experience in the field of distant learning of the ECAD Laboratory in the Technical University of Sofia. Four Web-based distant learning modules are described and a brief summary of their submodules is given. These Web-based modules are a "CADENCE design software" module in English, an interactive module "digital IC design using SYNOPSYS" in English, an interactive module "digital IC design using SYNOPSYS" in Bulgarian and an "analog IC design" module. The methods and core skills that should be trained in Web-based courses are defined in the paper. The concept of the realization of Web-based training courses is explained. These modules were developed in the framework of the European Project IST-2000-30193 REASON (research and training actions for system on chip design).
