Abstract
We have acquired single transact of multi-beam bathymetry and backscatter data from Mandovi estuary of Goa for three days during the pre-monsoon session. The measurements were made during the high-tide. In this work, nonlinear statistical technique e.g., ‘Hurst exponents’ were estimated using bathymetry and backscatter data. We have chosen seven study blocks from estuary to river side of the bed. The selected bed features are: outer ripple and interesting feature from the shoal area, two ripple bed blocks from inner part of the river channel, bed area closed to the pool, and two river bed blocks identified at middle part of the river, and near the Jetty. Our present analyses relate estimated ‘Hurst exponents’ parameters with the bed load and other physical characteristics.
