Abstract
Simulations were performed with LT-SPICE™ to evaluate the limiting effects of cell size, perimeter recombination, and sheet resistance on the performance of a solar cell under 500 sun light concentration. A circuit model was generated using parameters extracted from a 3 junction InGaP/GaAs/InGaAsN device and simulated with various contact configurations. The results of the simulation were then used to determine the optimal cell size for a gridless cell and the conditions under which a gridless cell is more efficient than a cell with grid fingers.
