Abstract
Objective To explore the impact of family centered continuous care interventions on medication adherence and disease activity in patients with ulcerative colitis(UC).Methods 80 UC patients admitted to the People's Hospital of Chengyang District,Qingdao from May 2020 to Apil 2023 were selected as the research subjects and they were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 40 patients in each group. The control group received continuous routine nursing care, while the observation group received family centered continuous nursing intervention, both of which lasted for 3 months.Compare medication adherence,self-care ability, and disease activity between the two groups. Results Before nursing care, there was no statistically significant difference in medication adherence,self-care ability, and disease activity between the two groups(P>0.05).After nursing, the observation group's medication compliance score(6.55±1.20)points was higher than the control group, and the self-concept score(21.96±3.10)points,health cognition score(18.12±2.09)points,self-management awareness score(36.41±5.01)points,and self-management ability score(30.07±4.02)points in the Self-Management Ability Scale were higher than those of the control group, and the UC Disease Activity Index had a stool blood score(1.21±0.23)points,diarrhea score(1.23±0.27)points,endoscopic performance score(1.03±0.20)points,and physician evaluation score(1.16±0.25)points were all lower than the control group, with statistically significant differences between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion Family centered continuous nursing interventions can improve medication adherence,self-care ability, and accelerate symptom improvement in UC patients.
