This article is a retrospective report on the injuries of competition ski jumps in Sapporo, Japan during the period between 1985 and 1990. In these five seasons, 56 official ski jumping games, including the world cup games, were held in Sapporo. The total number of jumps amounted to 7831 with 71 jumps with falls for a fall rate of 9.07 per 1000 jumps. By hill size, the fall rate was 8.29 per 1000 jumps on the large hill and 10.16 per 1000 jumps on the small hill. Weather conditions directly affected the fall rate, which increased in windy weather with varied wind velocity. The most common location of injuries were the face, neck, shoulders, and upper extremities.
