Abstract
This article deals with the successful acting career of Gina Lollobrigida. Even though Lollobrigida never worked under the direction of the three most famous neorealists, namely Antonioni, Fellini and Visconti, the actress achieved national and international fame working for Zampa, De Sica, Blasetti and Castellani on the domestic front, and Christian-Jaque, René Clair, John Huston, Sir Carol Reed, King Vidor and others no less prestigious on an international scale. Duilio Coletti's Miss Italy a Ponti production, introduced Lollobrigida in her third starring role receiving top billing. The other two were Love of a Clown and Children of Chance. Alberto Lattuada had also thought about making a film with a Miss Italy plot but the project was abandoned. Lollobrigida's presence in the cast gave a touch of credibility to the plot since she had been a Miss Italy candidate herself.
