Abstract
The article reports that spot butadiene (BD) prices in the Asian market have increased by 13% month-on-month to an average of 1,475 U.S. dollars per ton cost and freight as of June 20, 2014. However, market players believe that the upward trend in BD prices might end owing to the ongoing contraction of China's economy. It also notes that several major styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) manufacturers in Asia have cut down production because of the sharp rise in feedstock BD costs.
