Abstract
The authors discuss compliance with the Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials (CONSORT) statement to improve accurate and transparent reporting of clinical trials. They comment randomized controlled trials (RCT) are commonly required by many dental and medical journals to conform to the CONSORT statement and the drafting of extensions to the statement to address variations of RCTs such as cluster and crossover trials. They talk about the use of split-mouth designs in dental RCTs.
