Abstract
The article discusses a study conducted to determine Total blood volume (TBV) by hemodilution (TBVHD) for patients with valve disease and compared the results with the Allen Formula and weight based estimates of TBV. It is noted that the study included 194 consecutive adult patients who have underwent non-emergent cardiac surgery between October 15, 2012 and February 1, 2013 and found that Allen Formula improve accuracy in mathematical estimates of TBV.
