Abstract
The article explores a common genetic variant (Asn437Ser) in the MRPP3 gene, implicated in mitochondrial RNA processing. It states that this variant, previously linked to metabolic diseases, has been introduced into the mouse Mrpp3 gene using CRISPR-Cas9 technology. It mentions that when exposed to a high-fat diet, mice carrying this variant exhibit signs of insulin resistance, including impaired glucose tolerance and fatty liver.
