Abstract
This article discusses the use of three-dimensional virtual reality (3-D VR) technology in surgical training, specifically in the field of head and neck surgery. The authors highlight the potential benefits of VR training, such as improved muscle memory and surgical skills, as well as the cost-effectiveness and safety of remote VR platforms. They review studies conducted in various surgical specialties, including orthopedics and neurosurgery, which have shown positive outcomes with VR training. However, they note a lack of information on the use of VR training in oncological head and neck surgery. The authors suggest that VR training should be explored and considered as part of the core curriculum for head and neck surgery in the future. [Extracted from the article]
