Abstract
During asymmetric cyanohydrin synthesis catalysed by vanadiumVoxo(salen) complexes, the catalysts are reduced to vanadiumIVoxo(salen) as determined by EPR spectroscopy; the reducing agent is cyanide which is oxidised to cyanogen viaa non-radical mechanism. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
