Abstract
The article discusses research that examined the impact of shared medical appointments (SMA) on helping mitigate the burden of built among cancer survivors. It shows that peer support may be beneficial in reducing the burden of guilt and the associated psychosocial distress of survivorship. The need to study the long-term impact of SMAs on mental health and quality of life among cancer survivors is suggested.
