A definition of the term "hepatitis C virus," is presented, which belongs to the flaviviridae family, that is Hepaciviruses genus, and is a pathogenic human RNA virus, which causes chronic liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma, that is liver cancer, molecular biology. The size of this enveloped virus is 60 nm.
