Provides information on the protest action staged by students from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Nicaragua in León, on July 23, 1959, against the state of siege condition of the country. Overview of the demonstration staged by the student; Actions taken by local members of the Nicaraguan Guardia Nacional against the students who participated in the demonstration; Discussion on the political activity of the students; Several incidents of violence that attest to the students' heightened level of anger and resentment.
