Abstract
The article discusses the need for the development standardized guidelines that can be used for correct analysis and interpretation of urine drug testing (UDT) and other laboratory results to avoid mistakes and deaths in pain management. The accuracy and reliability of tests and discussion of limitations and strengths of UDT between provider and laboratory are important for avoiding any confusion or misinterpretations. All the providers should hence be given prior knowledge and better outcomes.
