Abstract
Highlights •In this paper, SOH estimation problem is addressed.•A model selection criterion based Genetic programming (MSC-GP) approach is proposed.•The effects of objective functions (OFs) on algorithm performance is evaluated.•The MSC-GP algorithm predicts battery health status more accurately than ANN and GPR.•The study confirms the feasibility of MSC-GP algorithms for SOH estimation.
