Abstract
Highlights •Indicators for the environmental and economic assessment of products are presented.•Investigated aspects included the life cycle impacts and costs, energy efficiency, maintenance and repair.•The indicators have been applied to a casE−study vacuum cleaner.•Extending the lifetime of the vacuum cleaner resulted convenient in the majority of the considered scenarios.•For example, extending lifetime by 250 h can reduce the Global Warming by 4% and the total costs by 8%.
