Abstract
Highlights •A novel self-supported Ag-CoSe2 single atom catalyst was fabricated.•The catalyst shows excellent OER activity (167 mV@10 mA cm−2) in 1.0 M KOH.•The Pt/C||Ag-CoSe2 pair with barely degradation for 1500 h@500 mA cm−2.•Lattice oxygen activation of in situ derived CoOOH from Ag-CoSe2.•The catalytic mechanism at an atomic-scale insight is uncovered by DFT.
