Abstract
Highlights •FeS2 NS and FeS2 NC with different exposed facets were prepared.•The photo-activation and photo-dissolution processes of FeS2 can reduce Cr(VI).•Fe2+ and photo-generated electrons participate the reduction of Cr(VI).•A small part of FeS2 can be oxidized by Cr(VI) to generate goethite.
