@@@@Highlights •Different pore-sized UCMBR systems were examined for high-strength textile wastewater reclamation.•The internal fouling in ceramic UF was efficiently controlled using saturated CO2 backwash.•Soluble EPS, especially proteins and LMW neutrals remained, resulting in irreversible fouling on the UF membrane.•Complete-standard blocking was identified as the main fouling mechanism for small-pore-sized UF.
