Abstract
Highlights •316L parts were fabricated in two multi-laser scanning strategies within a range of flow velocity from 0 to 3 m/s.•The surface quality and mechanical properties of the both scanning strategies were improved with a rise in flow velocity.•The superior mechanical properties were due to the decrease in lack-of-fusion defects and spatters.•The interval of two lasers along the flow direction should not be too close when flow velocity is low.
