Abstract
Highlights •A multiscale stochastic particle (MSP) method is proposed for simulating nonequilibrium gas flows.•The exact integration scheme corresponding to ellipsoidal-statistical Fokker-Planck model is derived.•The MSP method allows large temporal-spatial discretization by quantifying and correcting operator splitting errors.•The MSP method is an accurate and efficient tool to simulate gas flows ranging from rarefied to continuum regimes.
