Abstract
The article traces the origin of Halloween. It informs that people known as Celts observed a festival called Samhain to mark the end of the harvest season 2,000 years ago in what is now Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The article also mentions that the Roman Catholic church established the All Hallows' Day and All Souls Days and that European immigrants who came to the U.S. in the 1700s brought their Halloween customs with them.
