Abstract
The article presents part 2 of an examination into the political controversies and debates over the power of investiture and the episcopacy of Norman England during the 11th-century. Focus is given to the political battles fought between St. Anselm of Canterbury, King William II of England, and his successor Henry I over the legitimacy of Anselm's authority as primate of England. Further discussion and context is related concerning the English reception of the liturgical reforms of Pope Gregory VII and the relationship between church and state powers in the nation.
