Designing monogram stamps.

Abstract
A printmaking activity in which students designed and used monogram stamps is presented. Students used a modeling clay compound to make monogram stamps that they carved with their initials and then printed repeated shapes and forms with the stamps. As a result, students enhanced their understanding of patterns and their appreciation for graphic design inherent in the alphabet.
