The article presents the author's reflections on his "most enjoyable historical experience" of the year 2009. In it he discusses three separate events which influenced him throughout the year. Events discussed include his giving a lecture on the 1,100th anniversary of the founding of the Christian diocese of Crediton in England, his research discovery of a letter from 1335 and how it assisted his historical theories regarding King Edward II, and his visit to a living history experiment at the the Iron Age hill-fort site of Castell Henllys in Wales.
