A teacher's guide to the Vol. 40, No. 3 December 2009/January 2010 issue of "Scholastic Art (Teacher's Edition)" is presented. It explores the linear designs of the Celts, which have been influenced by their conversion to Christianity and centuries of Viking raids. Also included are contemporary artists who blend traditional linear patterns with images from their environment and a career advise from jewelry designer Matthew Campbell Laurenza. The national content standards for visual arts are cited.
