Abstract
The article discusses the arrest of Afghan tribal leader Haji Bashar Noorzai, who acted as an informant to the U.S. on Taliban and al-Qaeda leaders since November of 2001. However, Noorzai's tribe was a large producer of opium, and in June of 2004 his name was placed last on the list of most wanted druglords. While engaging in talks with U.S. officials in Manhattan, Noorzai was unexpectedly arrested for allegedly attempting to smuggle heroin into the U.S.
