Abstract
The article focuses on the science of comparative philology, a humanistic study of language and literature, in Germany. Studying philology can be done through lecture courses, which cover every subject from methodology to numismatics, and seminars, which give explanation of the ancient authors and writing. The writing encompasses all subjects including the development of grammatical rules from given principles, the determination of the true author of the book and the explanation of a difficult passage through emendation.
