Abstract
A response of the author to a review of his book "The Left Case Against the EU," which appeared in "Monthly Review: An Independent Socialist Magazine," is presented. Topics covered include position taken by the left in Great Britain to remain and reform the European Union (EU) in line with the Brexit crisis, significance of nation-states to the EU, sovereignty relations among member states in line with the bankruptcy of Greece and the neoliberal transformation of the EU.
