Abstract
The article presents a report regarding the severe lymphopenia in hospitalized patients with influenza virus infection as a marker of a poor outcome. It discusses the association of severe hematological abnormalities and worse outcome in hospitalized patients with influenza illness. It mentions the descriptive analysis of the outcome of patients depending on the presence of lymphopenia.
