Abstract
This specimen is a very good match for the published description, and Greville's sketch of a single leaf on the lectotype closely matches that published in Plate 5 in Hooker & Greville (1825). However, in E (which they did not search) there are four duplicates of Wallich's original collection, one of which is from Greville's herbarium and was gifted to him by Hooker in 1822. The collector cannot be William Hooker himself (who never visited Nepal) but can only be Wallich, as the earlier Nepal moss collections from Francis Buchanan-Hamilton and Edward Gardner had already been studied and published by Hooker and others.
