Abstract
The article discusses the remains of a Roman villa marittima, or seaside villa, retreat on the Bay of Naples in Positano, Italy that was destroyed from the 79 A.D. volcano of Mount Vesuvius, Italy, referencing several photographs. An overview of the excavation of the villa, including the design of its triclinium, or dining room, and the frescoes on the villas' walls, is provided.
