Abstract
The article examines the financialization of capitalism, highlighting the 1966 book "Monopoly Capital: An Essay on the American Economic and Social Order" by Paul Baran and Paul Sweezy. Capitalism's financialization has reportedly been marked by increasing financial profits especially in the U.S. Also discussed are the ideas of the book, financial liberalization, and the behavior of financial profit in the U.S. economy.
