The article discusses the complexity of combining artefact and text in the fields of archaeology and history. Topics discussed include the archaeological effects of disciplinary isolationism, the insights of education specialists Christina van Kraayenoord and Scott Paris on the methods of creating meanings in museums, and the relationships between museums and the academic disciplines of history and archaeology.
