Abstract
The authors present a study of time-dependent asymmetries in neutral B meson decays collected with BaBar detector at the PEP-II asymmetric B Factory. They find a non-zero value for the CP-violating amplitude sin(2{beta}) thus establishing CP violation in the B{sup 0} system at the 4.1{sigma} level. They also report on precision measurements of the B{sup +} and B{sup 0} lifetimes and of the B{sup 0}{bar B}{sup 0} oscillation frequency {Delta}m{sub d}, and on a first measurement of the time-dependent CP-violating amplitude in B{sup 0} {yields} {pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -} decays.
